Corvin’s Castle in Hunedoara, a Gothic style castle built on Roman ruins in the 14th century, where Vlad Tepes was imprisoned during his youth for 7 years. It features tall and strong defence towers, an interior yard, and a drawbridge. Built on the site of an older fortification and on a rock above the small Zlaști River, the castle is a large and imposing building with tall and diversely coloured roofs, towers and myriad windows and balconies adorned with stone carvings.
Sibiu (City Centre Tour), the town was the largest and wealthiest of the seven walled citadels, built in the 12th century by German settlers known as Transylvanian Saxons (it was the European Cultural Capital for 2007)
Fagaras Citadel, we will visit the museum inside of the citadel. Ranked on second place on Hopper’s top ten castles in 2014 “The World’s 10 Best Castles”: Is one of Eastern Europe’s largest and best-preserved feudal Castle complexes. Unquestionably the most-visited site in the medieval old town of the city, the castle was once the kingpin of regional power. Throughout the 17th century, the citadel was expanded continuously, reflecting the growing wealth of a centre that exercised control over much of Transylvania and central Romania.
Peles Castles, with its fairy-tale turrets and pointed towers rising above acres of green meadows sprinkled with haystacks, built as a summer residence by Romania’s longest serving monarch, King Carol I
Bran Castle, commonly known as “Dracula’s Castle”, is marketed as the home of the titular character in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Rasnov Citadel, built as part of a defence system for the Transylvanian Villages exposed to outside invasions
Brasov (City Centre Tour), with medieval charm streets, the town was also built by German settlers known as Transylvanian Saxons. We will visit the Black Church.
